Fuel Cost Adjustment to Monthly Rates:

TVA instituted a Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) effective October 1, 2006. The energy component of the firm rates will be adjusted in the monthly bill by the FCA. TVA recalculates the FCA each quarter and it can add or subtract to the firm rate monthly. Find more info on TVA FCA in this PDF. Also read about what goes into your power bill, High Power Bills.

Onpeak hours:
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the months of April, May, June, July, Aug., Sept., & Oct.
5 a.m. to 11 a.m. during the months of Jan., Feb., March, Nov., & Dec.
(excludes weekends & Federal holidays: Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving and Christmas days which are considered offpeak)

DEFINITIONS

Residential Rate – “applies only to electric service to a single-family dwelling and its appurtenances, where the major use of electricity is for domestic purposes such as lighting, household appliances, and the personal comfort and convenience of those residing therein…”

General Power Rate – “applies to the firm power requirements for electric service to commercial, industrial, and governmental customers; institutional customers including but not limited to, churches, clubs, and like customers, except to whom service is available under other resale rate schedules.”
